The Magic of Switching Up Your Routine

You’re a creature of habit – so am I! Our patterns help make up who we are and how we define ourselves. Your favorite foods, exercise routines, grocery stores – even the way we answer the phone, gives us a sense of self. But guess what? You have the power to change at any moment, and being open to change is healthy and fun!

In an article on Lifehacker,  author Belle Beth Cooper explains how novelty (something new) releases dopamine, a feel-good chemical, when you’re trying new activities. Drive a different way home from work, and your energy shifts from head to toe.

Perhaps it’s no coincidence that after I started practicing karate, I suddenly found the energy and inspiration to launch an entirely new business!

In fact, when you expand your routine, surprises are everywhere – so today’s video is all about the importance of challenging yourself to head into unfamiliar territory. Whatever you want right now – the new relationship, the new job, the new client – could actually be on the other side of the street.
