Wake Up Happy: A Lesson from Deborah Szekely

Last May I had the good fortune of heading down to the legendary wellness center, Rancho LaPuerta in Tecate, Mexico. Between the vegan buffet and the nature hike, I had the privilege of listening to a lecture by the founder, Deborah Szekely, who at the time was 93. When she arrived, she virtually floated into the room… smiling, strong, vibrant and ready to share her wisdom with the 80 or so people seated.

I adored hearing about her work, but my favorite take-away was the simple lesson she shared about how she starts her day. She has seen quite a bit of change in her many years on the planet and she is well-aware of the demands of our current busy lives. This one insight really made me pause and re-think about how I start my day.

Watch today’s video and see for yourself how you can begin your morning with a smile on your face.
