David Steindl-Rast: The Gentle Power of Gratitude

Let me ask you… are you happy? Seriously, right now, in this moment, are you really happy? This is not a trick question, but it’s one that I have been pondering ever since I heard the TED Radio Program, Simply Happy.

I love that people are now studying what makes us happy and they have made some wonderful discoveries. I encourage you to give the entire program a listen, but I shall gladly pass along some highlights!

Too much stuff weighs you down.
When you focus, you are happier.
When you slow down, you magically become present.
Happiness takes work and dedication.
If you are grateful, you are not fearful.

One of the segments that delighted me the most was from a Benedictine monk named, David Steindl-Rast. He spoke of the gentle power of gratefulness. You can see his full TED talk here.

Stop. Look and GO.

This profound message really has the power to transform the world. Enjoy his wise words. I certainly did – so much so that I decided to give you a gift this holiday season. A brand new video series called “Rock Your Gratitude” that I will be releasing on my Facebook page over the next few weeks. These short videos will give you some insights on how you can start to experience life in new, simple and creative ways.

Haven’t connected with me on Facebook, yet? Well, head on over and when you LIKE my page, you’ll be sure to see the new videos as they are released. It’s high time we all rocked some gratitude this holiday season.

Give yourself the gift that keeps on giving. You deserve it.
